Product Description
Brand Story
LeeWorks was born from a collective quest for perfection. Our core team brings together a seasoned photographer, a film director, and an oil painter, working in deep collaboration with a leading domestic manufacturer of photographic accessories renowned for its extensive expertise. We begin with the photographer's authentic experience, integrating the insights of optical designers, mechanical engineers, and master assemblers. Through close-knit communication, we relentlessly refine our products, striving to perfect them before any new release. Most importantly, we are consistently guided by the classic Leica aesthetic, using it as our north star to meticulously craft products that truly resonate with user expectations.
Product Philosophy
This is not a modern optical lens, nor is it designed for everyone. It is a "Noct"-inspired lens that prioritizes a compact size, exquisite bokeh quality, and an accessible price point—deliberately trading off edge-to-edge sharpness for a uniquely characterful rendering.
Optical Design
Drawing inspiration from classic ultra-large-aperture lenses including the Leica 50mm f/1.0 and Nikon 58mm f/1.2, this lens adopts a classic Double-Gauss structure with an all-spherical element design. It incorporates multiple lanthanum glass elements to achieve a distinct vintage, film-like rendering. The design prioritizes the transition within the in-focus area (similar to Nikon's 3D-HiFi look) and out-of-focus rendering, incorporating a deliberate degree of field curvature to achieve superior bokeh at medium-to-close distances.
Key Features
-
Features a non-equidistant aperture design with 11 nearly circular blades, ensuring more circular out-of-focus highlights across different aperture settings
-
Internal stray light handling has been optimized, reducing flare by over 80% compared to early batches
-
The rendering at close focus distances resembles the character of the Leica 50mm f/1.2, making it ideal for portraiture
-
Features an adjustable rangefinder coupling mechanism, allowing for precise calibration to your specific camera body
-
Combines a compact form with an ultra-large f/1.1 aperture for clearer imaging in low-light conditions
-
Compared to a typical 50mm f/1.4 lens, it offers faster shutter speed possibilities, lower ISO requirements, and stronger subject isolation
